Weaver Library has a number of loanable technology items and anatomical models available for current students to borrow.

Dell Laptops are available for curently enrolled students to check out each 8-week block.  In order to check out a laptop you will need to visit the library's circulation desk. A laptop agreement form must be filled out each semester you borrow a laptop, even if you have borrowed one before.

Laptops are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Once all laptops are checked out, you may put your name down on a waiting list for the next available laptop (there is no guarantee that one will become available during that same block of classes).

Renewals for laptops are not permitted. Each laptop must be brought back at the end of each block by the due date in order to be looked over by a library staff member to determine if service is required or if the item is damaged. At that point a library staff member will either provide you with a new laptop or check the same device back out to you (if service is not needed). Laptops must be returned to a staff member at the circulation desk.

Overdue fines are charged for technology items that are not returned by the due date. If you cannot return an item on time, please contact the library in advance to make alternate arrangements. Replacement costs are charged for damaged or lost technology items. Students who return a device with excessive damage or lose a device will no longer be able to check out loanable technology from the library.

Replacement costs for laptops range from $750-1,000 depending on model specifications.

Hotspots may be renewed by phone, email, or in-person once. After one renewal, the hotspot will be due and will go to the next person on the waiting list. If there is no one on the waiting list, the hotspot may be renewed a second time. After a second renewal, the device must be returned for staff inspection. At this time a new device can be loaned if one is available. Hotspots must be returned to a staff member at the circulation desk.

Wireless hotspots depend on cell towers to provide wireless internet/data service. Hotspots will not work in areas that have poor cell coverage.

Replacement costs are charged for damaged or lost technology items. Students who return a device with excessive damage will no longer be able to check out loanable technology from the library.

Models must be returned to a staff member at the circulation desk.

A waiting list will be created when models are in high demand. When a model becomes available, the next student on the waiting list will be notified and will have 24-hours to pick up the model or to call the library to make pick up arrangements before the next person on the waiting list is called. If you are on the waiting list you will be contacted by phone. Be sure to have your voicemail box set up and check your messages.
